Personal Page - Eric Boggs
This is my Personal Page for Web Systems I. I currently work at Kennedy Space Center and have been with my current company for 6 years. My job title is IT Specialist and my duties include database management, API development, hardware and software maintenance. My duties fluctuate depending on what IT work needs to get done. In the past I have been tasked to support the upgrading of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's network, servicing and reparing printers, designing and implementing secure wireless networks for the Army and proposal writing/reviewing for business development. I am very interested in the security aspect of IT so that's where my current studies are heading.
Hobbies and Fun Stuff
My biggest hobby is playing sports. It doesn't really matter what the sport is just as long as it's fun. I currently play softball, soccer and flag football. Every now and then I have even been known to pick up a set of golf clubs, though I am not very good at that sport.
Another one of my big hobbies is computers. I enjoy learning new things whether they be hardware or software related. I build my own computers and do some occasional side work repairing other people's computers and removing any malware that may be on the systems. I have gone so far as to set up my own domain at my home just so I can mess with things that would normally not be found on a home network. I write programs that make my life easier and sometimes to make my friends lives easier. Pretty much anything that has to do with computers is fair game.
Besides sports and computers I also enjoy working on my cars. I have an 83 Camaro that I have been working on restoring. The Camaro has a LS1 engine and numerous other custom things done to it. My next project is rebuilding the T-56 transmission that I broke while at Orlando Speed World's open track night.
On the left you will see a video I created to show people how I installed the tricky brackets that come with the hidden hitch on my 2002 Honda Civic. I was really quite proud of how easily I was able to install the brackets so I thought I would be a nice internet citizen and share my technique with others. I shot and composed the video then did an voice over explaining things to follow along with the footage. I made the video very basic and didn't spend much time on it trying to make it fancy as I wanted people to focus on the material rather than flashy fades and effects.
